From the early days of the Group, St Giles was involved in providing commercial property insurance to a wide property-based clientele. Following the demise of the Solicitors’ Indemnity Fund in 2000, and building on an existing specialisation in professional indemnity insurance for Managing Agents, St Giles broadened its business to include professional indemnity insurance for Solicitors. As demand for our high standard of service increased, we expanded our client portfolio to provide PI cover to Accountants, Surveyors and other professionals.
St Giles has always been a member of insurance industry associations and was a member of the Insurance Brokers Registration Council before joining its replacement, the General Insurance Standards Council. We are now authorised and regulated by The Financial Services Authority.
As we currently place insurance on our clients’ behalf with a total premium in excess of £30 million, this amount of premium, placed with a wide range of insurers ensures we get a high level of service from and have a close relationship with our underwriters.
